Well is anybody tired of the moisture??? Lets see, hmm, my 3 Arabs have been shut in their stalls since the rain started about half way through September except for a day here or there when the ground dried up just a bit. We take them out any walk them a little but the round pen and grass pasture is either muddy or too delicate for thundering hooves. Leibowitz the gelding is just miserable. By nature he is a nervous Norman, Arab owners know what I mean, and he just can't stand and look out the door at the weather like the 2 girls. You know how men must either eat or drink or sleep but not be trapped in, yeah. The other day I walked into the hallway where his stall is and his purple square feed bucket with plastic hook handles for hanging on a slatted fence was hooked over and on top of one of the 10ft slatted walls of his 10x12 stall and the big plastic barrel feeder that hangs in that stall from a previous owner had about 2 gallons of water in it. I was furious..Someone had come into my horses stall and jacked around with stuff they had no business touching. Right now my leasing stable is not very popular and I only have 1 boarder, a Hispanic man who is very respectful of everyone. I went to talk to him asking why he or one of the family members felt it was necessary to mess with my horse and his stall. Missee Candeee, he says in broken english, we no tuuuch anyting.(this language inflection is only to describe this part of a real conversation and is not meant as a discriminating gesture). Yea sure I thought, no one else is even in this place to pull this off. It did dawn on me that it could have been kids but there is only one way to come in for humans and there was no unusual tracks. I pondered this for days thinking maybe Leib did it but there was no possible way the feeder could have been hooked over a 10ft fence by a horse and why would there be water in the larger hanging feeder. Any guesses, you brainy trailriding horselovers, as to how this came to pass. The explanation must make sense and if no one guesses I will tell anyway. Hope someone tries....Candy of Friendly Acres Is all that good hay gone???
